Looking for fun activities to do at home? Look no further! The Town of Pittsford Recreation staff will create a box with themed activities for your child to do at home. Included in the boxes will be all the supplies you will need to create the crafts, activities, and experiments. The date listed will be the pickup date; you may pickup anytime after that date. Join our fabulous Storybook Cook series again this month. First we will read the story, then we will create a few edible goodies to enjoy. Grab a friend or come to class to make some new friends. You will be so happy that you did.

The holidays are approaching along with all the sweet desserts and goodies we usually enjoy. This year, why not make something of your own to share with family and friends; something they’ll RAVE about. Join Miss Liz today and learn how to make a number of delectable desserts that will please the most distinguished palate. Believe it or not, all these entrees will be made without using an oven! You will be able to sample everything made, but bring a leftover container…just in case.

During the five sessions of Cupcake Club, participants will learn how to use tools used to create awesome cupcake designs (bags, tips, fondant, decorations, etc.…) Each participant will receive two cupcakes per session to create the cupcake theme that week. I will supply all needed materials. The cupcakes will be vanilla, and the frosting is shelf stable frosting. I am an approved home food processor through NYS. It must be noted that cupcakes/frosting are prepared in a home kitchen where allergens may be present. I will also provide an ingredients list on each cupcake container the participants will bring home, after each session.

Each week will have a themed cupcake:
Week 1: Using tools! Practicing with tips/putting frosting in bags/practicing using tips to frost cupcakes.
Week 2: Theme cupcake
Week 3: Theme cupcake
Week 4: Theme cupcake
Week 5: Participants choice: Participants will be able to choose from a variety of designs to show off their new cupcake decorating skills!

Since we are in the heart of the holiday season which, of course, means holiday gatherings. Have you ever wanted to make an impressive charcuterie board to display or bring with you? Well, come this evening and Liz Bauld will demonstrate how to easily put together a few different kinds of boards. Most of the class will be demonstration, but when she shows how to make the meat roses, you will have the opportunity to try making them yourself. Samples are very generous, so bring a container to bring some goodies home with you.

Make soap easily by using a cold-processed soap base. Learn the fundamentals of soap--what it is, a brief history and how it is made, then create your own personalized batch. Just add color, scent and herbs. If you are leery of working with sodium hydroxide, but want real soap, this class is for you.

Learn to make real soap using the most popular method today, cold process. This is a two-class course. Learn theory and safety precautions in the first class and get a list of safety items to bring to the second class. In the second class, make an actual batch of soap to take home!

Shower scrubs are a great way to exfoliate and smooth the skin. Learn to make your own! You will choose colors and additives to make a jar to take home.

Bath Fizzies are among the most popular bath treats today. Learn how to make them yourself and take several home for your own luxurious bath.

Soy candles are a popular and sustainable alternative to traditional paraffin candles. Learn the basics and make your own candle to take home!

What is better than a text message or an email? Sharing some fun and fellowship as you craft seasonal themed all occasion note cards, tags or treat holders, and maybe some home decor gifts. Everything you need to wow friends and family or just show them how much they are appreciated. All the designer series paper, cardstock, envelopes, ribbon, or bling are included and ready for you to add your special touches. Learn to stamp, color, and create along the way. Beginners welcome! This 2-week watercolor class taught by Pittsford Fine Art gallery member Kathy Armstrong is meant for those who would like to try out watercolor painting without committing to purchasing materials. Various watercolor techniques will be demonstrated, as well as color-mixing, and how to achieve various results. The cost includes the loan of paint, brushes, palettes, and support boards. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm.
